cahut.cloud and docs.cahut.cloud set no cookie, measure no audience and show no advertising. Their web server keeps a log of requests for 30 days, and nothing else.
Who is responsible
Olivier Durand, the publisher of the sites, is responsible for this data. Write to security@cahut.cloud with any question about it.
What the web server keeps
For each request, the web server writes a line to its log:
- the IP address of your connection
- the date and time
- the address asked for, and the answer of the server
- the page you came from, when your browser sends it
- the name and version of your browser, as it states them
The log serves to run the sites, find errors and protect them from abuse. Its legal basis is legitimate interest, under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. It is deleted after 30 days.
Only Olivier Durand reads it, and OVH SAS, which hosts the server in France as a processor. The data stays in the European Union. It is never sold, and never used to build a profile of a visitor.
Cookies and storage in your browser
The sites set no cookie. When you pick the light or the dark theme, your browser keeps that choice in its local storage, so that the next pages show it too. The choice never leaves your browser. As a setting you ask for, it needs no consent, and the settings of your browser erase it.
The fonts, scripts and images come from the sites themselves: your browser calls no other service while you read them.
Links to other sites
Links lead to other sites, such as GitHub. Each has its own rules, which apply once you are there.
E-mails
When you write to security@cahut.cloud, your address and your message are kept for as long as the exchange needs them, then deleted.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you may see the data about you, have it corrected or erased, limit its use, or object to it. Write to security@cahut.cloud: you get an answer within one month. The log names no one: give the IP address and the time of your visit, so that your lines can be found.
If you think your rights are not respected, you may complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
A Cahut on a server
This page covers the website and the documentation of the project only. A Cahut installed on a server belongs to whoever runs it, who decides what it keeps and answers for it.
